Closing Time

So we closed on our house on Tuesday, March 21. Actually, all went pretty well since we got our final funds number the previous Wednesday, and other people I know didn't get it until hours before. Our realtor is a bit on the ditsy side because we were supposed to do a walk-through an hour before closing, and the title company's office was 30 minutes away. She didn't show up until 7 minutes before we really had to leave! Well, I'm glad that ours went "smoothly" considering. The one annoying thing is that the next day, the title company called and was like, "Oh, we forgot to include the survey cost." Very irritating!

We've bought a lot of accoutrements for the house already.

• breakfast table from Ikea (no chairs yet, but at least we have that window seat!)
• family room rug from Target
• front door rug from Target
• back door rug from Target
• cocktail table and matching sofa table from Haverty's to be delivered Friday
• brown leather sofa, loveseat, and chair/ottoman from Foley's to be delivered Sunday
• Frigidaire washer/dryer from Lowes (washer matches, and we stacked them)
• LG refrigerator from Home Depot to be delivered tomorrow

Hank's already done a lot of work too.

• replaced 2 missing knobs in the master bath
• added motion sensor to the floodlights
• installed a rain/freeze sensor to the sprinklers
• hung a mirror in the half bath
• added keyless entry to the garage
• activated the security system

We've moved everything out of storage and started moving things out of the apartment too.

We grilled hot links for dinner on Saturday night out on the patio, and we're hoping that we can do the same with hamburgers this week, weather permitting!
